E-WRITING – Catering for
Able Writers
This PD looks at one way of
providing more opportunities for able middle years writers,
linking them with other like-minded students and providing a
larger and appreciative audience, all through the use of
computers.
Developing skills of
conferencing is an integral component of this program and
questioning techniques, use of interactive white boards and
tracking changes on the computer will be examined for their
value to the conferencing process.
There will be some discussion
analyzing the needs of your Gifted and Talented writers
(Middle Years students) and an evaluation of components this
program is able to address.
It doesn’t matter whether you
have one student or thirty students in your school who you feel
would gain from a program like this, this will provide
opportunities for them. You also don’t have to have special
equipment in your school – apart from computers.
This is a hands-on PD so
participants will need to bring their laptops and be able to
access their e-mail remotely.
